The tutorials are designed to quickly and efficiently walk you through the main components of the system.

System Design

  • The system is designed in an “umbrella” style architecture, linking all locations together to feel like they were all in the same room. This means changes made on one station will immediately appear on all other stations.
  • The system delivers focused tools required to meet the needs of each department while keeping an eye on the overall cohesion of the business.
  • The system builds on a modular design (think cookie cutter, building blocks) which allows the system to be fully tailored to the company’s business model.
  • The security of the system is handled automatically with a high level of networking encryption for both employees and customers booking online.

Booking Agent

  • The Booking Agent is the client application used by employees to create new schedules, customers and bookings.
  • Once installed, you will find a shortcut to launch it from Start > All Programs > Blue Sky Thinking Inc. > Booking Agent from your desktop.
    » Install the Booking Agent
  • Company administrators can setup and manage employees permissions.
    » Setup Employees and Permissions

Worried about making a mistake?

  • As an employee, you can confidently use the system without worrying about accidentally erasing a customer or booking information.
  • There are multiple warnings and logical barriers when deleting important information.
For example, you cannot delete a customer that has existing bookings.
  • Payments cannot be deleted after they are made, only reversed so there is always a history and reconciliation of transactions.
  • You cannot accidentally harm the system.

Friendly Windows™ Interface

  • The program was designed to act and run like other Windows applications you are already familiar with.
  • Keyboard shortcuts which provide for the quickest data entry.
    » Navigation and Shortcuts
  • All the forms are made to be “sticky”; that is, the size and location of the windows automatically re-opens just where you last left them.  This includes re-sizing and re-ordered columns, which can be adjusted with your mouse.
  • If there is ever a problem with the columns or resized windows, you may restore all the system defaults by clicking View > Window > Reset Window Layout.

Logging

  • The system tracks a history of actions for each booking by employee or customer, depending on the scenario.
  • Managers can quickly resolve problems by reviewing the sequence of events from the system logs.

Garbage in, garbage out…

One important piece of advice comes from an old adage, “Garbage in equals garbage out”.

You will want verify the customer name and address fields when creating their profile and confirm booking details with the customer to ensure they are of the correct date and time.
